Frequently Asked Questions

• What type of vehicles do you offer for rental?

  We offer luxury Japanese MPVs, ideal for families, group travel, airport transfers, and short-term use.
  All vehicles are fully inspected and maintained before each rental.

• What are your pick-up and return hours?

  Car rental pick-up and return are available Monday to Friday, from 10:30am to 7:00pm.
  All vehicles must be returned by 7:00pm on the scheduled return day.

  For other days or outside these hours, please contact us in advance to arrange a special booking.

• What happens if I return the vehicle late?

  Vehicles returned after 7:00pm without prior approval may incur a late return fee.
  Extended delays may be charged as an additional rental day.
  If you expect a delay, please contact us as soon as possible.

• Is a security deposit required?

  Yes. A security deposit (bond) is required prior to vehicle collection.
  The bond will be refunded within 30 days after the vehicle is returned, subject to no outstanding charges or claims.

• Is insurance included?

  Yes. All rental vehicles are covered by insurance.
  An insurance excess of $3,500 AUD applies in the event of damage, loss, or claim.
  Full insurance details will be provided at the time of booking.

• Do you offer child seats or booster seats?

  Yes. Child seats and booster seats are available upon request, subject to availability.

  Additional cost applies:

  • $20 for the first day
  • $10 per day thereafter

  Child seats must be requested at the time of booking.
  Installation assistance can be provided; however, final responsibility rests with the renter.

• What licence do I need to rent a vehicle?

  Drivers must hold a valid Australian driver licence.
  Minimum age and licence requirements will be confirmed during booking.

• Are there any usage restrictions?

  Yes. Vehicles must be used for legal road use only.
  The following are not permitted:

  • Smoking or vaping
  • Pets inside the vehicle
  • Off-road driving
  • Racing or track use
  • Commercial use

• What condition must the vehicle be returned in?

  The vehicle must be returned:

  • On time, at the agreed location
  • In the same condition as at handover, excluding fair wear and tear consistent with normal use
  • With the same fuel level as recorded at pick-up

  The renter acknowledges that KM Auto Group’s pre- and post-rental inspection records will be used to assess vehicle condition.

• Who is responsible for tolls and fines?

  The renter is responsible for all tolls, traffic infringements, fines, and penalties incurred during the rental period.
